Together for a Water‑Wise Future: Join the Wave!

Since May 2025, Wavemakers United is supported by the TAUW Foundation, as part of  the European Platform of Waves (EPW) Dream Project. The initiative empowers young people to engage with water and climate challenges across Europe through education, innovation, and community building. Through this partnership, we are able to:

• • Train young Wavemakers through workshops, leadership programs, and global events
  • Develop educational projects focused on water, climate, and circular solutions
  • Build global bridges between generations, sectors, and communities

Goal of this project

Setting up so‑called Waves in Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, and France. Waves is a network of young people with the aim of sharing knowledge with school‑age children. In this project, Wavemakers will not only establish the Waves but will also develop educational materials, launch campaigns, and create an app. Wavemakers is committed to scaling up TAUW Foundation projects and involving TAUW employees in the Waves.

What is a Wave?

Wavemakers United is a community of students, young professionals, and athletes with a passion for water. As a youth organization we focus on local challenges while having a global reach. Our aim is to contribute to the UN SDGs and involve as many youngsters as possible. A Wave is a youth‑driven mini‑ecosystem in which young people take the lead. Each Wave brings together education, innovation, and action to address today’s water and climate challenges — locally and globally.

Within a Wave, young people organise:

• Guest lessons for children and teenagers aged 6–17, delivered by other motivated young volunteers;
• Educational programs that make national and global water and climate issues understandable and relatable;
• Media and awareness campaigns that inspire communities to take action;
• Spaces for innovation, where new ideas, initiatives, and solutions can grow.

Together, these Waves form an ever‑expanding network of water‑ and climate‑aware youth — a movement that keeps growing organically.

Where do the waves take place?

The project focuses on creating and strengthening Waves in:

In each country, young people are supported in building their own local ecosystem, tailored to local challenges and opportunities.
