The green City
The Green in the City project aims to inspire people to make their gardens, balconies, and living spaces greener – contributing to biodiversity, health, and climate adaptation. By showing what’s possible, we encourage residents to take action that benefits both their own quality of life and the environment. Building on the success of acclaimed films such as ‘Onder het Maaiveld’ and ‘De nieuwe wildernis’, this new media initiative focuses on practical, achievable examples that meet residents’ needs while creating opportunities for companies and municipalities to collaborate on a sustainable future.
From Inspiration to Action
Through a compelling film and accompanying campaign, this project showcases how urban greening can create robust urban ecosystems, strengthen social cohesion in communities and support climate resilience through cooling, water retention, and cleaner air. This project connects greening directly to urgent societal themes such as climate adaptation, healthy eating, and nature-inclusive construction.
With captivating storylines and powerful visual examples, Green in the City aims to spark a movement in which citizens, companies, and municipalities work together for a greener, healthier living environment. Our approach transforms residents from being unconsciously unaware of their environmental impact to becoming informed, engaged, and active participants in creating climate-resilient, nature-rich cities.
