Reviving nature: experience, biodiversity, and life below water
Our underwater landscapes are home to a rich variety of plants and animals, and they play a vital role in maintaining biodiversity and water quality. The underwater landscape is often underexposed compared to the above-water landscape. Waterways are often mowed bare by managers, leaving little structure for underwater life.
Goal of the project
In this project innovative measures are designed to restore and enhance underwater environments. The measures focus on:
- Boosting biodiversity by creating and improving habitats for aquatic life
- Engaging the community by involving volunteers in hands-on monitoring and data collection
This is more than just a pilot project. The project results can be used elsewere to implement such measures.
- Technical aspects – the design and installation of restoration measures
- Practical aspects – how to implement these solutions effectively in different contexts
- Process-based aspects – how to organise, involve stakeholders, and ensure long-term success
